It all begins with wanting a clean, safe and organic source of Marijuana.
Like many people, I have chronic pain. I was taking opioid medications, but they came with many side effects, such as headaches, itching and weight gain—not to mention they did not work. This led me to marijuana. It helped the chronic pain without the negative side effects. As an added bonus, it also helped with my ADHD and helped calm my mind.
Sadly some friends got cancer and they, like me, could not get the proper medications they required to manage their symptoms until they tried marijuana. These experiences led us to explore where we wanted to live and chose Vermont, both for the legalized marijuana and pro-small business atmosphere.
Since then a few of our closest friends have passed on, but we had them around for longer because they could get their medicine. One of the very last things one of our friends said to us right before he passed was if we don’t drop what we are doing and start to grow this marijuana for others, then “we would be fucking idiots.”
In the summer of 2023 we explored over 1,600 miles of Vermont from Canada to almost Massachusetts—and we know what they are all called in Vermont;-). We moved to Vermont in Mid-September 2023. We are working hard to prepare our site for the business and ready the home to finish raising our family. The space was once a gun store and archery range. Soon the indoor Archery ranges will be a Tier 1 grow space and Tier 2 manufacturing space.
Small Family Craft Cannabis of Vermont is in the works to be a licensed cannabis business. We expect to have some of our first products in the pipeline in the 2nd quarter of 2024.
The only thing we really miss, other than friends and family, from Texas is the Tex-Mex and Taco Trucks. I don’t think we will ever miss the 100+ degree heat and 99% humidity in summer.
Stay tuned for further updates….
